Whitney's Sweet 16

This cake was for a Sweet 16 Birthday for Whitney.  I had so much fun making it because I learned how to do zebra print and I got to work with black fondant!  So fun!  I love they ideas she had and had a great time taking those ideas and making a cake just for her.
It was a Neopolitan cake, Vanilla with strawberry cream cheese frosting on the bottom, chocolate with cream cheese in the middle, and strawberry cake with chocolate cream cheese on the top.  I loved the jewels and the W on the top.  Happy Birthday Whitney!

Nate and Shantelle's Wedding Cake

This was the cake I made for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding.  I had so much fun making this cake.  They wanted a fun party cake and that's what they got.
The tiers were all different sizes and heights.  The balls in between the layers are styrofoam painted with food gel.
This cake was mostly cereal treats because they didn't want to serve it so just the bottom was cake so they could cut it for pictures.
I loved all the different ribbon, so fun!  Sorry it took me so long to put it up here, their wedding was last July, but I had to get the pictures from my parents computer.  Haha better late than never.

Hawaii 5-0

This cake was for my Aunt's 50th Birthday party.
I made the seashells and lei out of gumpaste.
A close up of the starfish
 Some more seashells.
Unfortunately, the drive to Bear Lake, (2.5 hours away) proved difficult for the cake to handle.
We had a blast and the chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ganache was a major hit!  Thanks for the chance to make this cake!

Dallin's First Birthday

This cake was for my good friend Ashley's baby boy's first birthday.  He is such a cutie!
This is my first time carving cake because I didn't have a dome shaped pan, not amazing, but it was a great learning experience and it was really fun.
Dallin loves dogs so Ashley asked for a doggie cake.
The tail kept wanting to not be a tail, even with toothpicks holding it up haha.
I thought his name on the collar would be cute
Happy first birthday Dallin!

Palmer's Party

I made this cake for a friend who wanted to surprise her husband with a blue guitar cake.  It was so fun!
I put his name instead of a brand.  It is covered in fondant and then I painted it with pearl dust.
Palmer excited about his cake at his surprise party.
Hope you had a great one Palmer, and thanks Camille for letting me do this cake for you guys!  I had a great time :D

Birthday fun

This cake was for a friend's little sister's birthday.  Their wedding dinner was on her birthday and they wanted to surprise her.
I had so much fun with this cake because it is different from anything else I have done so far.  I got to use the cute wires too, it was great!
I painted each color with pearl dust so that it would shimmer in the light, although I don't know if you can tell in this picture.
 A view from the top.
A view of my salt and pepper shakers...And there were white pearls around the bottom of each tier.  It was red velvet with this amazing new cream cheese frosting recipe I found.  They loved it and it made me so happy!  Thanks Allie and Chris for letting me do this cake for you!

Birthday Cake

I made this cake for my student ward's Relief Society birthday party.
They wanted fun and bright and didn't care what I did so I just had some fun.
It was hard to do it in my little college apartment, but I was able to learn some new things, it was great.
Here's a view at the party.
Happy flowers.

Misty's Wedding Cake

This cake was for a friend of mine from high school.  It was a beautiful backyard reception.
She wanted the bottom layer as cereal treats and the top as cake.
I put some white on white accents because she wanted a simple cake.
We put some gerbera daisies for a pop of color, her colors were pink, black, and white.
It was so fun to do this cake, I loved it!

Happy Birthday

This is the birthday cake I made for my Aunt Shelly.  Her birthday is July 2 so we had to make a festive cake.
I tried really hard to get the fondant red but it's really hard haha.  I learned to just buy red fondant instead of knead forever to get a dark pink.
This is at our cabin at Bear Lake.

Chelese's Cake January 2010

My cute cousin Chelese's wedding cake.  I worked for weeks on the gumpaste flowers.  Her wedding was the first week of school so it was a little crazy.
It was so fun to make a cake different from anything I had done before.  Again they didn't want to serve the cake so only the bottom was actual cake and the top two were styrofoam.
 Here's a side shot.
The bottom tier was white almond cake with almond buttercream frosting.  I loved making this cake for her.  Fortunately I got these pictures before the little kids came by and touched the flowers and broke many of them.

October 2009

Another trusting roommate Heidi allowed me to do her wedding cake.  This cake, was all cake.
This cake was definitely very fun, and very interesting.  Heidi wanted red velvet cake with 10" rounds and a square middle.  Having only one 10" round cake pan at the time, I made over 12 batches of red velvet cake, one cake at a time.  I bought out the store of red food coloring and had to go to another to finish.
This cake was also very fun because I got to hand paint the design on each cake and since the bride wasn't picky, I got to be creative on what I did.
The interesting part of this cake is that I had to drive it from my little college apartment in Logan to Firth, Idaho where the reception was.  I recruited my roommate Audrey and my friend Megan next door to help me drive the five separate cakes in my little Honda Civic to Idaho.  6 Hours and my first speeding ticket later, the cake had been delivered and she loved it.  It turned out really well and I was so happy she let me make a cake for her special day.  Love you Heidi!
